Frequently Asked Questions
First of all, we are really thankful that you are mobilizing your network to help us with our mission! Without your fundraising support, we would not be able to execute our daily activities and projects on Lesvos and Samos.
At Movement On The Ground, we believe in transparency. We want everyone, from our staff and volunteers to our long-term donors and new followers to know where we source our funds and how they are allocated. We're pretty sure that you will get questions about this from your sponsors too, so here's how things work.
The money that is raised is STRICTLY earmarked for the ground only (our mission on Lesvos and Samos).
Of the total amount rasied in your campaign, the money is split as follows:
Of your funds are used to cover our operational costs on Lesvos or Samos.
Of your funds are used to help with the runnings of our different services and projects on either Lesvos or Samos.
Good question! Here are some examples of what it takes to run our different programs and services. Your contribution will be used in some of the following ways to help create a positive impact for the residents living in and around camps on Lesvos and Samos.
It takes €750 to run the waste management project on Samos for a week, collecting about 8000 kg of waste. This project positively impacts the lives of 6500 people.
It takes €1000 to provide and maintain WiFi in the Olive Groves for a month. WiFi is viewed as a fundamental need for the almost 5000 residents living in the Olive Groves campUs where we operate. It helps them source important information online and stay connected to their loved ones.
It takes €1500 to provide emergency support to 15 unaccompanied minors, in the form of clothes or food.
It takes €1500 to make 25 tents ready for summer: install fans, fly catching tape and mosquito nets. This helps to positively affect the lives of 250 people throughout our Olive Groves campUs.
It takes €500 to keep our generators running for a month. These generators provide power to over 2,500 residents in our Olive Grove campUs.
